Kapok as filling material in organic cotton nursing pillow
Our Minky Mooh nursing pillows made of organic cotton are filled with sustainable kapok. The natural fiber surrounds the kapok seeds in a 20 cm long fruit capsule. After harvesting, the capsules are opened and the kapok is dried in the sun. The kapok is then separated from the kapok seeds in a blower chamber. No further treatment steps are necessary.
The benefits of kapok
- No sweating, no heat build-up: The kapok fiber wicks away moisture and ensures pleasant heat and moisture regulation.
- Breathable and water-repellent: The natural fiber traps a lot of air in its cavities, making it breathable and, thanks to the natural wax layer, also water-repellent. Even if something goes wrong, the kapok stays clean.
- Temperature regulating: Kapok cools in summer and warms in winter. This means that it always ensures an optimal climate for you and your baby.
- Low noise: Nursing pillows with microbeads rustle on the ear and can feel uncomfortable when resting your head on them. Kapok is noiseless, soft and gentle.
- Memory foam effect: Nursing pillows with microbeads often create hollows. Kapok, on the other hand, gives way gently and then returns to its original state. The memory foam effect ensures that the pillow always adjusts to you and your baby.
- A companion for years: Many children use the nursing pillow even after they are toddlers, e.g. as a bed border or for cuddling.
- Sustainability: Kapok is harvested from wild trees and does not contain any pesticides or other pollutants.

I filled my pillows with it and it is very comfortable to sleep on, very soft and smells good. A great product.
